On any given night in the city of Ponce, Puerto Rico and the southern side of the island, there are an average of 1,539 homeless on the streets. There are no overnight homeless shelters outside of San Juan, and there is only one in San Juan.
Who we are
ECHOs is a transitional housing provider that will be based in Ponce, Puerto Rico and is committed to providing a variety of community housing services, including short-term emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault or child abuse; temporary residential shelter for the homeless, runaway youth, and parents and families caught in crises. In addition, ECHOS provides education in LifeSkills to ensure that clients are successful once permanent housing is available.
